The Pumpkin Felting Workshop is one of the many workshops and events featured in ADX Fest, a region-wide art and design festival celebrating Portland's independent businesses and makers. Huddleston's workshop is in part a fundraiser for their emerging stop-motion animation project, My Friend Blue, a children's TV show designed to showcase a neurodiverse and multigenerational relationship between two adorable dinosaurs. Stop-motion animated with felted characters, Huddleston and her team tell a touching story of a child navigating an overstimulating neurotypical world. By developing this fundraiser, Huddleston aims to create a pathway to develop stories of resilience for communities of all ages and neuroabilities. In collaboration with ADX Fest, this workshop is a strong demonstration of the exciting steps of a grassroots movement of storytelling and community building.
